These two old Leylands although similar in appearance are worlds apart. The older QZ model on the left is powered by a four-cylinder petrol engine of 48hp and a four wheeler, whereas the Hippo has an overhead camshaft indirect injection oil engine of Leyland's own make giving about 100hp and of the type that would revolutionize road haulage in Britain during the next decade
