This Silver Star coach of 1956 with its Harrington body on the Leyland Tiger chassis was state of the art at that time, and this coach and its sister vehicles transported many a National Serviceman on weekend leave and back from the various army camps on Salisbury Plain to cities such as Birmingham, Newcastle and Liverpool. By the early sixties this source of passengers was dwindling as conscription was phased out, before long the firm was taken over by Wilts and Dorset and Sliver Star was no more
