The A.E.C. London Transport LT Renown six wheeler although never as numerous as its STL stable mate was a common sight until well after the war and was a most impressive vehicle to look at. Until amended in the mid fifties double decker's were restricted to 27' 6" overall length on two axles so to increase capacity by building to 30' three axles were needed. Curiously the same number of tyres were in contact with the ground, a two axle bus ran on twin rears but a three axle had singles on the rear bogie.
